Public Access Policies: Foundations, Charities and Organizations

Funding Organization

The V Foundation for Cancer Research funds biomedical research in order to better understand the causes of cancer and to advance its prevention, treatment and cure.

Policy

To ensure that knowledge can be accessed, read, applied and built upon fulfillment of our goals, The V Foundation for Cancer Research expects its researchers to publish their findings in peer-reviewed journals.  All peer-reviewed articles supported in whole or part by its grants must be made available in PubMed Central in accordance with the following conditions:

  • Authors are to deposit an electronic copy of their final peer-reviewed manuscripts in Pub Med Central immediately upon acceptance for journal publication.
  • The manuscript is to be made publicly available in PubMed Central no later than 12 months after the official date of journal publication.

Effective Date

The effective date of the V Foundation for Cancer Research Public Access Policy is grants awarded after August 1, 2014.

Manuscript Version Required

The manuscript version required is the final, peer-reviewed manuscript version.

Embargo Period

The embargo period is no later than 12 months after the official date of publication.

Repository

The repository is PubMed Central (PMC).
