The Patrick and Catherine Weldon Donaghue Medical Research Foundation provides grants for medical research of practical benefit. It focuses on initiatives to strengthen research on health issues, promote research leadership, and put new knowledge to work for public benefit.

Policy

it is a condition of Donaghue Foundation funding that all peer-reviewed articles supported in whole or in part by its grants must be made available in the PubMed Central online archive in accordance with the following conditions:

  • Authors are to deposit an electronic copy of their final peer-reviewed manuscripts in PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for journal publication.
  • The manuscript is to be made publicly available in PubMed Central no later than 12 months after the official date of journal publication. This requirement applies to all Donaghue Foundation grants awarded after 2014.

 The manuscript version required is the final, peer-reviewed manuscript version.

Embargo Period

The embargo period is no later than 12 months after the official date of publication.
