At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.
We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a possible cure for autism. We strive to raise public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society: and we work to bring hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.
It is a condition of Autism Speaks funding that all peer-reviewed articles supported in whole or in part by its grants must be made available in the PubMed Central online archive.
Either the journal or author must deposit an electronic copy of the final peer-reviewed manuscript in PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for journal publication.
The manuscript is to be made publicly available in PubMed Central no later than 12 months after the official date of journal publication.
An author must acknowledge Autism Speaks' support in every article arising from such funding. The acknowledgement statement must include the applicable Autism Speaks grant number. This will enable Autism Speaks to link the published outputs of research to the support it has provided.
The effective date is Autism Speaks grants awarded after December 3, 2008.
The manuscript version required is the final, peer-reviewed manuscript version.
The embargo period is no later than 12 months after the official date of publication.
The repository is PubMed Central (PMC).
