Public Access Policies: Foundations, Charities and Organizations

Funding Organization

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Policy

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network funds grants for biomedical research in order to better understand the causes of pancreatic cancer and to advance its prevention, detection, treatment and cure. The main output of this research is new knowledge. To ensure this knowledge can be accessed, read, and built upon in fulfillment of our goals, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network expects its researchers to publish their findings in peer-reviewed journals.
All peer-reviewed articles supported in whole or in part by Pancreatic Cancer Action Network grants awarded in 2013 and later must be made available in the PubMed Central online archive in accordance with the following conditions:

  • Authors are to deposit an electronic copy of their final peer-reviewed manuscripts in PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for journal publication. (See Policy on Public Access to Published Research: Compliance Guide for Grantees)
  • The manuscript is to be made publicly available in PubMed Central no later than 12 months after the official date of journal publication.
