Scoping Review Guide

Guidelines

Becker librarians adhere to recommended best practices when creating scoping review literature searches. We also recommend that researchers become familiar with these guidelines, especially PRISMA-ScR, when conceptualizing the scoping review project.

JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis

JBI is a global organization that promotes and supports evidence-based decision-making in healthcare. Their resources provide comprehensive information about conducting scoping reviews.

PRISMA

PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) is an evidence-based minimum set of items for reporting in systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Many journals endorse PRISMA and may require authors to use PRISMA when submitting systematic reviews for publication. In 2018 PRISMA published an extension specifically for Scoping Reviews.
