Journal and Funder Policies

Many journals and funding agencies have policies for authors who disseminate preprints. Some journal publishers do not allow preprints to be submitted for peer review; other journal publishers encourage authors to submit preprints. Policies from funding agencies usually include specific requirements for citing a preprint such as a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and the Object type (e.g. preprint, protocol) in the citation. Authors are highly encouraged to check policies of journal publishers and funding agencies for preprints.
