We offer e-books from the following publishers and collections, please note that access is selective: not all books from all collections are available to the Becker Library. These subscription sites are accessible to WUSM faculty, staff and students. Please review copyright statements on the site before using any images. Most of the sites permit users to download the images for non-commercial instructional purposes, as long as the source of the image is included.

AccessEmergency Medicine

AccessMedicine is an online medical resource that provides students with the tools they need to excel in basic and advanced studies, clerkships, and crucial test prep. ACM provides residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with interactive content, self-assessment, and leading medical texts to enhance decision-making at the point-of-care. It and allows for practicing physicians to brush up on their medicalknowledge to ensure best patient outcomes. It includes a complete full-text library of clinical and basic science textbooks, including Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, 20e, CURRENT Medical Diagnosis & Treatment, The Color Atlas of Family Medicine, 2e, and many others.

PDF's of Individual chapters or sections can be downloaded or printed.. Text to speech reader is available at the chapter level. Create a free MyAccess account to use the self-assessment features and the free app. A MyAccess account also allows off-site access without the use of VPN or the library proxy. Books@Ovid
The Ovid platform provides easy single search access to e-books and e-journals. Select Books from the menu bar to browse the available e-books including many of the current Washington Manuals. To download a PDF file select the View in Book Reader button to access the e-book. Then select the green arrow to view the available Tools. Export to PDF is one of the available Tools. In the New Book Reader use the Table of Contents on the left to navigate the eBook. Select the triangle to open the list of contents until you can select a section name to view that section.

Elsevier’s ClinicalKey gives you access to quick answers at the point of care alongside trusted, comprehensive medical evidence. It includes clinical overviews, full-text books and journals, drug information, procedure videos, clinical calculators, patient education handouts, practice guidelines, clinical trials, and MEDLINE® citations and abstracts. Physicians can earn and claim CME.

You can print most ebooks without a login but to download E-Book chapters you must register to create a free account with ClinicalKey. Use your WUSM email address as your username. Please note when printing, the entire chapter will print when you select the print icon. Page numbers from the print book are not included. Elsevier has told the library that: "PDFs of chapters are provided for the majority of book titles in ClinicalKey, with the exception of books intended for the medical education setting (used by students and trainees on an undergraduate and graduate level). Since the launch of ClinicalKey, PDFs have not been included with the medical education books because of the unauthorized systematic and widespread downloading and sharing of PDFs in the medical education market. However, these book titles are still included in full text in the ClinicalKey HTML book reader, complete with all chapters, images, tables, and references. If you are a faculty member and wish to assign reading resources for your courses, please note that all content in ClinicalKey, including book chapters and parts thereof, have durable URLs that can be captured and copied into a content management system or syllabus." Ebook Central
Ebook Central is the new friendly user interface for e-books from Proquest.. Here is a Quick Start Guide.
Look for the Download PDF buttons to either print or download. Ebook Central keeps a tally of the number of pages printed and downloaded. That tally resets every 24 hours. A user signed in to an Ebook Central account can usually download 40% of the pages in a 24 hour period. A guest user can download 30% of the pages in a 24 hour period. EBSCOhost
A percentage of each book can be saved or emailed as PDF files after opening the e-book. Adobe Reader or any other PDF reader is required to read them (for both PC and mobile devices). Page numbers are included in the PDF. EBSCO eBooks are now available to be downloaded and read on the EBSCO Mobile App without the need for an Adobe ID or separate reader app.

Chapters can be downloaded as ordinary PDF files without any restriction. Adobe Reader or any other PDF reader is required to read them (for both PC and mobile devices). Chapters with page numbers can be printed.

LWW Health Library Medical Education
Access to over 30 widely-used resources and supporting multimedia content from Lippincott. Includes Bates' Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking, Pathophysiology of Heart Disease, and Grant’s Dissector. Personal accounts are not required to read online but they will be needed to print and save images. Click on the green box in the upper right hand corner that says " Bernard Becker Library Washington University School of Medicine" to login or create an account.

Access the new website for the O'Reilly/Safari Tech Books Online by using a valid Washington University email. Create a free user account to retain notes etc. in the e-books you have used. uCentral provides access to The Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics, 5-Minute Clinical Consult and to the Johns Hopkins ABX Guide through a free downloadable mobile application or on the web.
uCentral also includes Unbound MEDLINE with Grapherence™ a powerful search tool with visual exploration capabilities and Grasp™ a study solution that allows you to build decks of flashcards as well a number of integrated calculators.
Access to the Website and to download the uCentral app to an iphone, iPad or android device is restricted to WUSM. To personalize uCentral and download the free mobile app, register from the uCentral website. Printing from the website is limited to a topic at a time. Downloading the app to your mobile device provides offline access to the material.
