Community-Engaged Research

Organizations

  • CDC Prevention Research Centers: Is a network of 26 academic research centers in 24 states that study how people and their communities can avoid or counter the risks for chronic illnesses.
  • Campus Compact: We advance the public purposes of over 1,000 colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility.
  • Center for Community Investment:  Part of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the center works to overcome disinvestment and improve opportunity so that everyone has affair chance to lead a healthy and productive life.
  • Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP): Offers patients, their caregivers, and the general public an online Education Center to help them learn about clinical research and what it means to be a clinical research participant. CISCRP offers a portfolio of services to support patient engagement, clinical research education, and clinical trial participation for study volunteers, clinical research stakeholders, and sponsor organizations. 
  • Center to Advance Community Health Equity:  Team of health experts, advocates, community members, and funder who use evidence-informed tools and technical assistance to support strategic approach to health improvement in communities where health inequities are concentrated.
  • Community-Campus Partnerships for Health’s mission is to promote health equity and social justice through partnerships between communities and academic institutions.
  • Health Equity Initiative: HEI is a member-driven nonprofit membership organization dedicated to build and sustain a global community that engages across sectors and disciplines to advance health equity.
  • International Association for Public Participation IAP2 is an international association of members who seek to promote and improve the practice of public participation / public engagement in relation to individuals, governments, institutions, and other entities that affect the public interest in nations throughout the world. 
  • National Youth Leadership Council Service-Learning Resource Center The Clearinghouse is the Nation's #1 library of service-learning resources. The Clearinghouse offers thousands of free online resources for K-12, higher education, community based organization, and tribal communities.
  • The Office of University Partnerships (OUP): In 1994 HUD established the Office of University Partnerships (OUP) in an effort to encourage and expand the growing number of partnerships formed between colleges and universities and their communities. OUP recognizes the crucial role these collaborations and partnerships play in addressing local problems and revitalizing our nation's communities.

  • Rural Policy Research Institute: The Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI) provides unbiased analysis and information on the challenges, needs, and opportunities facing rural America.
