Tools for Authors: NCBI Tools

This libguide provides guidance for authors in support of their scholarship efforts.

What is NCBI?

The National Center for Biotechnology Information advances science and health by providing access to biomedical and genomic information. Among the resources included are PubMed, PubMed Central, genomic tools, registries, databases, among others. To see a full list of resources, see: All Resources.

One NCBI tool of interest to authors is "My NCBI." My NCBI retains user information and database preferences to provide customized services for many NCBI databases.

My NCBI features include:

  • Save searches & automatic e-mail alerts
  • Display format preferences
  • Filter options
  • My Bibliography & NIH public access policy compliance
  • SciENcv: a researcher biosketch profile service

Under the NCBI Tools tabs, there are two sub-pages: SciENcv and My Bibliography. Hover the mouse over the NCBI Tools tab to find the sub-pages.
