Public Access Policies: Foundations, Charities and Organizations

Funding Organization

The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) is a leading national presence in Parkinson’s disease research, education and public advocacy. We are working for the nearly one million people in the US who live with Parkinson’s by funding promising scientific research while supporting people living with Parkinson’s through educational programs and services.

PDF expects its researchers to publish their findings in peer‐reviewed journals.

In addition, it is a condition of PDF funding that all peer-reviewed articles supported in whole or in part by its grants must be made available in the PubMed Central online archive in accordance with the following conditions:

  • Authors are to deposit an electronic copy of their final, peer‐reviewed manuscripts in PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for journal publication as permitted by the journal.
